Instead of packing for my 20 year high school reunion, I decided to ease my nervousness with a glass of wine (okay, two) with my friends at our favorite location, 30A. Toddlers in tow, we settled on Great Southern as our meeting location. Between the anxiety of seeing people I haven’t seen in two decades and the unavoidable struggles that always pop up when dining with a terrible two, I felt a bit put off by an entrĂ©e and two sides so, I ordered my favorite of black-eyed pea hummus.  Yum!

Honestly, that was enough to satisfy me, but I felt compelled to order something else. I love crab, not the leanest of seafood but, tasty nonetheless.  The ‘Crab Martini’ was a beautiful dish, however quickly became a culpable choice when I re-visited the menu and the price tag.

My son likes seafood so, I gave him the first bite. He complained, “COLD, Mommy, cold!” and proceeded to throw up all over the floor.  Ahhhhh… life’s little challenges….

Cheers!
