Dinner plans for two at Boat Street Kitchen & Bistro. With only two locations, Seattle and Gascony, France, this aliments is fantastique! The stone tables, sliding multi-paned doors and Julia Child cookbooks resting on shelves add to the ambiance. There is no question that sight and smell contribute to taste. The smell of the baguette will leave you wishing for daily visits to this bistro. They even offer cooking classes at their quirky little house in France. I wanna go!!!! Stomp! Stomp!
Mike ordered the Prix Fixe. Raised Cariton Farms pork shoulder, Yukon Gold potatoes with apricot mustard sauce, Amaretto bread pudding and a glass of crisp white sav blanc. I had (drumroll please…) the Goat’s cheese soufflé with Porcini mushrooms, dill creme fraiche and a salad of arugula, watercress, mint and fresh strawberries with an amazing mustard-based dressing. Yum. Yum. YUM!
Off to a Jimmy Buffet concert (one down on Mikey’s bucket list; CHECK)!

On the morning of my departure, Melissa and Frank took us to Luna Park Cafe
. Oh boy! This was right up my alley! I’m obsessed with carnivals, particularly from the old days. Luna Park Cafe had an incredible display of relics from an old carnival in Seattle. The funfair was built in 1907 and provided fun for all until 1913. A fire resulted in condemnation in 1933. You can still see the pilings from the old carnival structure during extremely low tide in the northern tip of Alki Point in West Seattle. Just to name a few, the cafe holds an old metal bat mobile with peeling paint and batman himself in the drivers seat, right of the entryway. Kids can deposit a coin and ride with Batman. With a 1958 Seeburg Jukebox, other coin-ops like Pepe the Dancing Clown and the mini Orchestra above the front door, this spot takes you back in time. Food was great of course. I ordered eggs bene sans ham with a side of hash. Delish!
