One of my birthday presents this year was a ticket to Nashville to see the eclipse. We spent the early part of our day at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.

You don’t have to spend the night at this hotel to enjoy it. We had a little river boat tour inside the hotel and had a tasty lunch.

Then it was time to watch the eclipse!

As soon as it started to become as dark as dusk would be, we began to hear locusts and crickets. A little black beetle with orange stripes, you normally see at night jumped onto my leg and Mike spotted a colony of bats overhead. It all happened in a matter of two minutes.
We had a super quick dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Super exciting for Andrew, but no pictures. We had to rush to board our flight back home in time.
Fun day!
